7:36 PM ● Class Exercise 3: Photocollage in digital age

For this class exercise, we had to form into groups and choose a photomontage and discuss about it.

Unfortunately, i was absent and through my friend, i found out what we had to do for this class exercise.

Basically, it is to choose a photomontage that we like and substantiate why we liked that particular artist's works.

After much exploration, I came upon a website called "www.notpaper.net". I was initially intrigue by the title of the website and found out that it is a webpage where by photomontage artists' works are being showcased and posted there. There was a vast variety of photomontages across the different artists and their styles differ greatly.

One particular artist that capture my attention was Tanja Novakovic Ostojic.


These are a few of my favourite collages done by Tanja.





What i personally like about these artworks is firstly the usage of bright and contrasting colours. The colours attracted my attention and portrayed a very happy and cheerful feeling. The portrayal of seemingly "Alice in Wonderland" idea is what I like about the artworks as well. 
Not only that, I really like the way Tanja uses different clothes and styles to give of a very edgy and fashionable feelings. It feels as though the characters inside have a very strong and distinct personality, as if it was a fashionista.
Overall, i feel that her works are very unique and strong in her personality, as seen by the usage of very bold and striking colours, alongside with fashion clothes adorned and objects that are intricately designed.
